Jobscope

JOBSCOPE is an Integrated Manufacturing Information System for order-driven companies.

It provides the tools for an online, real-time, job costing and manufacturing management system for Engineer-to-Order, Make-to-Order, and Repair-to-Order manufacturers who wish to achieve the status of world class manufacturer. JOBSCOPE software provides seamless integration between CAD, job costing, finance, billing, estimating, budgeting, order status, scheduling, contract structure, quality control and bar code data collection, for single or multi-company and multi-plant situations. Modules such as Accounting, Job Costing, Engineering, Production, Scheduling, Materials Planning, Purchasing, and others are tightly integrated to track each individual project or job.

Jobscope includes the following main functions:

Project Estimating

The requirement to provide accurate bids and proposals to prospective customers, one of the most critical aspects of any order-driven environment, needs accurate estimating of all costs associated with an item or a contract. Jobscope's Estimating system provides functions that allow you to enter, update, and delete estimate information.

Estimating provides the capability to generate current quotations for existing bill-of-material structures, as well as items that have never before been created. Copy Estimates is a time-saving feature that allows a new estimate to be quickly created from an existing one, providing the ability to perform "same-as-except" estimating.

Features:

  • Allows you to associate documents with an estimate
  • Imports part structure
  • Imports work order
  • Exports  to Parts and Change Control
  • Exports to Excel
  • Implodes, explodes BOM structure
  • Provides "Same as except" estimating
  • Allows multiple proposal/estimate capability per bid
  • Supplies online order entry, modification, tracking and inquiry
  • Creates orders directly from estimates
  • Calculates the cost of any BOM structure
  • Analyses sales based on orders won, lost, inactive, etc.
  • Splits order commission rates among salesman
  • Varies terms for each job/order
  • Provides for the configuration and costing of items which do not exist in the Engineering BOM

Engineering

The Engineering subsystem takes up the design process where the CAD system leaves off and carries it through to the Project Management subsystem. The Engineering subsystem is intended to allow the design engineers to do their work in the CAD system then pass the work off to someone else who takes care of creating new part numbers and bills of material.

Features:

  • Links supplier part numbers to company part numbers
  • Maintains Drawing masters, drawing items, and drawing revisions and loads drawing items from the CAD system
  • Creates Engineering Releases and ECN's
  • Processes Part Revisions and generates Model Effectivity
  • Maintains Outside Processing details
  • Allows multiple selling prices and cost arrays per part
  • Maintains part inspection methods
  • Links documents electronically
  • Defaults dispositions for repair
  • Allows multiple routings per part
  • Allows mass changes for bill of material components

Production Planning

In Production Planning and Control, Engineering information is translated into activities for actually accomplishing the work.  Production Planning and Control receives the engineering information in the form of engineering releases. The engineering release contains engineering release line items, or lines, which identify the drawings, bills of material, and other data that are being released. Some of the release line items, or lines, require routings to be created. This is done in Production Planning and Control.

Features:

  • Creates shop work orders from the planning work order(s)
  • Purchases the item or items on the planning work order(s)
  • Designates that the planning work order(s) is covered on another engineering release
  • Designates that the planning work order(s) will be superseded by a another release (such as design engineering errors)
  • Substitutes an alternate item
  • Combines the planning work order with an existing work order
