McAvoy

The McAvoy Group is Northern Ireland’s largest portable building manufacturer with a customer base extending to the United Kingdom and Europe. Jackleg cabins are available in a variety of sizes, and can be fitted-out for ticket kiosks, offices, temporary kitchens and toilet units.

Anti-vandal units are designed with security in mind, to provide offices, stores, toilets and sports changing units, they are available in a range of colours and sizes.

Modular buildings are available as a large re-locatable facility for laboratories, classrooms, hospital wards, kitchens, canteens, office complexes, training centres and community halls.

McAvoy

The McAvoy Group is one of the leading forces in the design, manufacture and erection of prefabricated, modular timber and steel-framed modular buildings throughout the UK and Ireland. The Group’s commitment to developing its international market has been recognised with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International trade.

In addition to its manufacturing operation in Dungannon, Northern Ireland, the company recently established a new manufacturing plant in Lisburn, also in Northern Ireland. The investment in the site in excess of £5 million was backed by the local business investment body, Invest NI and supported through the Northern Ireland Technology Centre at Queen’s University. This site is being used exclusively for the manufacture of the McAvoy SafeSpace Anti-Vandal product range, a particularly strong and fast-growing market for the company.

“McAvoy realised early on that it required a flexible and fully integrated software package for the new premises,” said Adrian Walsh, e-Business Manager for the McAvoy Group. “This was both to ensure full advantage was made of the “fresh-start” opportunity it had at Lisburn and to ensure that all business processes were handled in the most cost-effective and efficient way possible.”

McAvoy invited 12 companies to tender for this prestigious contract and the list was reduced to two potential suppliers. Both companies made full presentations to the McAvoy Group’s senior management team and their decision was to award the contract to In2grate Business Solutions.

McAvoy

McAvoy became aware of the scope of joined-up functionality offered by In2grate Enterprise – everything from cost estimation and design through to manufacturing, shop floor scheduling and shipping. In particular the rules-based sales and product specification functionality was something that McAvoy knew would benefit the company in a major way. It would quickly determine lead times, accurately cost and action projects thus providing rapid feedback to the customer.

In2grate Enterprise has been recognised by the McAvoy Group as a comprehensive engineer-to-order solution and as such the optimum solution for the company’s needs at both of its plants. As orders for the McAvoy SafeSpace product continue to grow, In2grate Enterprise, with its wide ranging and totally integrated functionality, will encompass everything from sales estimates to production scheduling and delivery. It will enhance the efficiency of every department from sales through to design, manufacture and shipping.

Recent successes for the McAvoy Group include:

  • A multi-million euro contract to provide modular buildings for the development of Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport
  • The biggest steel-framed sectional building in Northern Ireland – a 25,000 sq ft two-storey building for the Department of Environment Northern Ireland
  • Development of administration buildings, wards and nursing accommodation at St Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin, one of the Republic of Ireland’s leading teaching hospitals
  • A two-storey steel-framed building for the Canadian Embassy in Bucharest, Romania
